Blogger, bookstore owner, modern philosopher and multiple New York Times best-selling author Jenny Lawson (a.k.a the “Bloggess“) has read and reviewed Just Another Meat-Eating Dirtbag! I’ve been a big fan of hers for years and it’s an honor to have her read my latest book, and even more so that she enjoyed it!
“A funny and honest graphic memoir about love, war and vegetarianism. More to it than you might expect.” – Jenny Lawson (A.K.A TheBloggess), NYT Bestselling author of Furiously Happy, Broken and Let’s Pretend This Never Happened
I’m working on updating the website and adding some social media links to, you know, up those follower numbers, in the meantime I’ll manually add them here, please think about giving me and Chai a follow on Twitter and Instagram.
If you’re in the Brooklyn, NY, area on Saturday November 5th at 7:30pm, stop by the Comic Carousel hosted by talented artist Robert Sikoryak. The Comic Carousel is an amazing event where graphic novelists (or, in my case, graphic memoirists), sequential artists, and comic creators do live, interpretive and performative readings of their works! I’ve never been but I’m one of the guest speakers on the 5th and I’ve heard that it’s an amazing time for anyone who loves comics, graphic novels, and any sort of sequential art.
In this dark humored War Memoir, Iraq veteran Michael Anthony discusses his return from war and how he defeated his PTSD. Civilianizedis a must read for any veteran, or anyone who knows a veteran, who has returned from war and suffered through Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD).

[Jerry’s bio from YouTube: I studied philosophy, politics, and economics in college at University of Pennsylvania. I’ve always been intellectually curious. This channel explores the immigrant experience, sex/gender issues, evolutionary biology/psychology, relationships, parenting, politics, culture and history. Basically, I’m here to explore society and learn from people.
As a Chinese-American who attended 1st, 2nd, and 3rd grade in Chinese public school, I’ve had some hilarious and some not-so-hilarious experiences. I also had some interesting friends in college and post-college, causing me to access many unconventional ideas about relationships and life. I stumbled on MGTOW by accident when an aspiring PUA acquaintance told me about it. As an artist, I have always prioritized personal growth, so I was living like a MGTOW without even knowing it. MGTOW has its merits, and I want to be a channel that lives happily as a MGTOW.]

Hey, as many of you know I have a new book that came out a few months ago: Civilianized: A Young Veteran’s Memoir. It’s a book about my return home from the Iraq war and I’ve already received hundreds of emails by veterans who really enjoyed the book.
I’m still out there promoting it, and I could really use your help. If you’re in the media or have an audience or you have any ideas or connections or assets that might be valuable as I promote this book, I would be eternally grateful. Just tell me who you are, what you’re willing to offer, what it might be good for, and how to be in touch. You can send me a PM through my contact page.
Thanks!

Stopped by Amazon the other day to see how Civilianized was doing and I saw that amazon had it labeled with The Oxford Book of American Short Stories by Joyce Carol Oates as a “Frequently bought together.” I thought it was an interesting pairing; I’m guessing, that with school back in session, they’re being taught somewhere in a classroom together, which is cool to know. If anyone in any of the classes happens across my blog here shoot me a message … if you need to write a paper on the book or anything, let me know, I’ll help you get that ‘A’…
Also, sales-pitch, sales-pitch, sales-pitch, if you haven’t read Civilianized give it a read … seriously though, it’s a good book check it out, you won’t regret it…
